About me
Having spent most of my days growing up exploring and working in the mountains and deserts of Utah, I have been greatly influenced by the wild outdoors. I love to experience it in as many different ways as possible through adventure sports such as paragliding, scuba diving, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, highlining, skiing, open water swimming, and outdoor photography. I have spent many years working as a backpacking guide, and river guide in the summers, and a ski patroller in the winters. These are a few of the ways I have learned to appreciate the immense value and beauty of the great outdoors.
My photography career started with a desire to document and preserve my experiences by going out on my own with a GoPro and filming my adventures. This made me realize my love for photography and videography. After a few years, I finally bought my first DSLR camera. Carrying this camera to the tops of mountains, down rivers, and while swimming across lakes. These experiences have brought me to where I am today.
Documenting my adventures through photography allows me to reflect on these incredible moments, and times spent outdoors. Now it is my goal to use my talents to capture these experiences in nature and share those special moments with the world.
I love the idea of placing a person in the middle of a natural scene. It creates such powerful imagery when we see where humans can go and see what we can do with our natural surroundings. I am happy to photograph wildlife, and the landscapes around us, but am most passionate about adventure photography. I feel combining a person with an inspiring natural place is most moving and powerful.
The more we spend connecting with nature the more willing we are to treat it with the respect it deserves. As the years go by we as humans seem to grow farther away from our roots, and gradually lose our connection with nature. When that happens we lose our respect for our wild places and our animal friends that inhabit it.
I hope to bring that connection back, through photography, I want to show people how important nature is for the soul and our well-being. I hope to inspire others to get outside and discover how nature can positively influence them, and I hope that these photos can inspire you to make a positive difference in this world.
